After the announcement on January 15 that the Toronto Star will be closing the printing plant, and cuts to the newsroom, Metroland Media announced the closure of the print edition of Guelph Mercury.  The Guelph Mercury was established in 1867, the year of Canadian federation, and is one of the oldest broadsheet newspapers in Canada.

This has left many scratching their heads wondering if print really is on its way out!  How can print sustain its self, in this day and age, with technology and the World Wide Web.  AM 640 delved into this topic on the Mike Stafford show…
